Family Beach Time!

Amanda and I were talking a while back about how we should go to the beach together. Today was supposed to be low 60's with lots of cloud cover - perfect! So we all dressed warm and headed to the beach! When we got there... we learned the weather was waaaaaaaaaaay off! It was super warm! Which is better ... if we hadn't all packed 2 sweaters haha!

We did tin foil dinners - it was a success! I didn't drop a single thing in the sand! HOORAY!!!

After the beach we cleaned up and headed to Jon and Amanda's house. We put the kids down (YAY!) and played a board game called Dead of Winter... yeah. I won :)

I Love To See The Temple - Tender Mercies

Tonight, Eric and I had the opportunity to go to the temple. While this isn't necessarily a rare occurrence, this was a particularly enjoyable trip. He got a ride in to work this morning because he works right by the temple - the kids were sad to see him leave...
After our temple session, an older gentleman and his wife came up to Eric and I while we were out in the waiting area. He said he had spoken with Eric already to make sure it was ok and that he wanted to stop and chat with me. He said, "I wanted to let you know that you have very unique and beautiful eyes. And a lovely smile." I immediately started to cry. His wife smiled at me and they left. I don't know who he is but I know he was inspired.
My eyes and my smile are my two worst features in my mind. I don't like either of them and I've spent my entire life wishing I could change them. I've been made fun of for them so often ...
I didn't realize how badly I needed to hear this from an outside party.
Thank you random man for heeding a prompting and taking the time to speak to me. You easily could have shrugged it off and told yourself that it would be awkward to speak to a young, married woman about her looks. But you handled it well, speaking to Eric first and then me... And I'm very grateful.
Also, we ran into our friends, Rachelle and Michael Dinwiddie. It is always fun to sit by a friend in the temple and we had fun going to Burgerville together for dinner after!

Social Interaction

I have a complex - I'll admit it... I shouldn't be worried about this as much as I am. Oh well, I stress.
Every 3-year-old in our area is in pre-school ... except Aaron.
He'll start Soccer in October, but I definitely feel the need to make sure he gets more social practice. So each day we do something. We host play dates, we attend play dates, or we go out and do something. Yesterday, the plan was to attend the library with some friends. On the way over, my friend sent me a message saying she could no longer make it. Since we were on our way, we opted to still go. Lo and behold, Lily was there! YES! Social interaction!
The Beaverton Library has sooooooooo much for the kids to do!
I love it! The kids love it too!

The first thing Audrey did was climb up on a table and start dancing ... oops...
I feel I should discourage that.

After the library, we went down to Gramma & Grampa's house!
It was raining, but seriously, when has that stopped us from playing in the tractor with Grampa?!?

This was my coat when I was little - cute huh?

Then tonight, we went to Olive Garden! They had a deal where you can get a free kid's meal with an adult entree! How fun! Both kids were super well behaved and ate a ton!

I promise I don't think the eye doctor counts as an outing, but I got this cute picture while we were there of the kids playing ... so, here you go :)

Also, wanna see Audrey's hair growth issues?
None in front, a curly party in the back!

Aaaaaaand, one more since I'm on a roll here - this is how we watch movies these days... Personally, I prefer sitting on the couch like the lazy lump I am, but him? Nah - we must stand and dance while we watch!

Hooray! Daddy is Sick! Wait ... what?

This weekend started out spectacular, wanna know why? Eric was sick! Did I say that outloud? Even though it's one more person to take care of, I'd much rather have him home any day! I love how I can see him all day, get a smile and a kiss and feel rejuvenated - ready to take on the world!

Aaron fell asleep at lunch after having eaten all of his food. He didn't get to sleep for long since he had a play date lined up! He kept trying to go back to sleep but once I mentioned he was going to go to Lily's house, he was wiiiiiide awake!

Audrey went with me to take him to his play date and when we got back to the car, she realized he wasn't in his car seat! She was so upset! She eventually calmed down though and we managed to still have a great time! We went shopping together and I may or may not have bought her a bunch of dress-ups that are way to big for her ... that I can't wait for her to grow into!

When we picked him up, Audrey was so excited! They held hands for most of the way home!
Audrey found a lady bug outside and Aaron, of course, was very excited to have "Vin" come back to visit! He was less excited when Audrey tried to eat her...

Daddy did his best to protect Vin but we finally put the lady bug on Audrey's head so she couldn't get to her anymore.
We gave Aaron a broken Chromebook and he had a blast naming the letters and the numbers and pretending to be like Daddy.

Friday night, I let Eric turn on World War Z - a zombie movie... It's one he's seen and likes so I offered to give it a shot. I lasted about 5 minutes. Eric looked over at me and knew he needed to change it - so he turned on Mean Girls. Haha, he's the best! Saturday morning, Aaron woke normal time but was content to entertain himself for a few hours. Audrey slept in till 10. That's right, be jealous. Therefore Eric and I slept in that late too. I'd forgotten what it felt like! Thank you kiddos!

On Saturday and Sunday we had the pleasure of watching Thomas and Annie!
We had so much fun!

My neighbor hosted a "weenie roast" and the kids had a blast!

They all woke up about the same time this morning and were soooo excited to play together!

Annie had fun sitting next to me trying to be a "mini-me." Can I keep her, please?

I was very reluctant to let Eric go drop them off to his mom. The kids didn't want to go either, which is always a good sign! They better come back soon!

Eric is feeling much better now, rats...
