Please & Thank You

Most of the time I still have to remind him...
except for bubbles.
He will grab the bubbles (that Lissa & Kenny gave him) and run at me screaming
"PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!"

Please took virtually no time to teach him because he had to say it before he could get what he wanted.
Thank you was harder because he already had what he wanted...

Thank You Aaron

Aaron,

Thank You so very much! What? You don't remember what you did? Oh, well, let me tell you because this was awesome!

Yesterday you woke up around 9am and then simply sang in your crib some unknown tune with the words "na na na" for 30 minutes. I laid in bed and listened and then got up and went to see you at 9:30. You didn't take a spectacular nap due to the fact that the circuit breaker is in your room and the guy replacing our water heater that went out Friday night had to go in there twice... you slept for maybe an hour.

But then ... oh boy ... at 4:30pm you were acting super tired so I asked if you wanted a bottle. You raced for the kitchen and we made you a bottle. Sometimes if you don't get a great nap, you take 2 naps (or if you wake up before 8:30am). You ran straight for your crib after getting your bottle and I laid you down for a nap.

Daddy got home at 6:40pm and you still weren't awake, but we decided to let you sleep... Well, Mama and Daddy went to bed around 12am and you still weren't awake! You had decided to go to sleep for the night! Figuring you were going to get up early I prepped a bottle for you and prepared myself mentally to get up reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally early. Well, 5am rolled around and all you wanted was a bottle! That's it! So I gave you a bottle and after drinking it, you went back to sleep!

When Daddy left for work just a little before 9am you were still sleeping! What?!? How could this be? You did not wake up until 9:50am. HOLY COW! That is 17 hours and 20 minutes! You don't appear sick, you simply wanted to sleep!

What an amazing sleeper you have turned out to be! You've gotten to the point where you don't wake us during the night anymore and usually sleep from 7:30/8pm - 9/9:30am and we love it!

Thank You for allowing Mama and Daddy to have sanity and sleep! We love you!!!

Aaron The Monkey

On Saturday, Eric's brother, Jon, came over to hang out with us. I stepped out of the room for a moment and came back in to see Eric helping Aaron down from atop the drum set. I asked Eric to hold him there as I raced for the camera. Eric's reply was, "I don't need to ... he'll do it for you again." Confused, I brought out the camera and instantly when Eric set Aaron down, this is what he did:

When I had come back in the room, I was walking in on his 3rd time doing this climb!

YIKES!

So now Aaron has free access to the drum kit so he doesn't kill himself trying to get there...

All in one day we had him pick up my wedding shoe and deliberately open the kitchen trash and try to throw it in, he climbed on the drumset (video) AND he pulled out one of his kiddie chairs and climbed on his kiddie table and then tried to dive bomb onto the windowsill ... good grief! What do we do now?

p.s. the shirt he is wearing ... yeah, he went to his clothes containers and pulled it out and brought it to me that morning. Apparently he has an opinion as to what he wears...

What Have We Been Up To?

Hello Hello!
Some of these videos/photos are a month old (I know, I'm a slacker!) but they are cute so I thought I'd show them to you anyway!

August:
Aaron loves Basketball - everytime we walk to get the mail he runs for the court.
This first video, I was going to crop but I figured Grams and Papa would love to see the whole thing :)

Aaron can now catch a ball fairly consistently! Yay Aaron!
He learned that when Eric scooped him up we wanted him to throw the ball so he started throwing it earlier and earlier, haha

Aaron learned how to spin... We were in the other room and heard him giggling and came in to find this:

 Yes, he gets very dizzy...

Aaron thought he could put anything he wanted into my diaperbag - including his precious rocks ... so now he carries his own bag :)

Here is a fun series of photos for you:

Aaron loves shoes - he brings his to me at least once a day to put on and then brings me a pair of my own. He also tries to put on Eric's shoes (mine have heels most of the time so he isn't quite sure what to do with them)

September:
For Eric's birthday we did games the night before and then went to Mark and Ane's (as it was also Ane's birthday) for dinner.
I made Ane some sugar scrub - I took a picture because I was really proud of the bow and my little wooden tag :)

Ane got a Rebounder for her birthday - Aaron loves it. Every time we go over now he goes to the bedroom to get on it.
Yes, he fell (I didn't edit any of these videos) and what did he do?
He climbed right back on - my little trooper!

Aaron has lots of dance moves: He shimmies, he bounces, he waves his arms, he spins, and he also does a booty shake!

We had a pool party for Labor Day weekend - Mark got a bunch of awesome photos and videos that I'll snag from him and post later, but these are the ones we have.
Aaron enjoyed the hammock in the backyard after the pool party

Our tire randomly had a hole in it - it looked like someone stabbed it with a pocket knife, so we went to buy new tires. Aaron likes the tires :)

Aaron loves to be "strong" - if you ask him to be strong he'll flex for you :) Here he is watching a video that says the word strong and he does the action.

We visited Daddy at work - but really, we visited a friend at work named Shelly. Shelly is Aaron's favorite... she sent him home with 2 balls and a pineapple cup. Here he is playing with all 3 in his little "boat"

Aaron enjoys his puzzles and stuffed animals!

Lucy had a "Fancy Nancy" birthday party last week - I made her a "fancy" dress up dress. :)

And as I was behind on Sara, I brought her dress along too!
After I finished Sara's dress I went out and bought an embroidery hoop so I don't do that much hand-stitching with out one again...

Aaron wanted to play with Thomas sooooooooooo bad. He followed him around for the entire party.
Aaron loves Thomas!
I tried to get one of the two of them smiling at me and all Aaron would do was kiss Thomas...

Kelsey got some super adorable photos that I'll have to snag from her and post later, but at least you got  to see a few!

The Potty

Aaron just turned 14 months and for the past few weeks we've been working on sitting on the potty... I know, if he were older it would take one day, blah blah blah - trust me, I've heard it all from everyone.

It started out because he had terrible diarrhea that was destroying his poor bum - the toilet would make it so the poop doesn't stay on his bum. The first time he sat on there, he went solid waste. Since then, we've just been sitting - no more actually pooping... He's gotten to the point where he comes to me saying "po po" and he'll race to the bathroom to put his special seat on the toilet, but nothing happens. He also loves to sit on there while I do my hair every day. It isn't like I'm pushing it hard core... he just wants to sit on there after I sit on there or while I'm in the bathroom. Aaron is simply determined to sit on the toilet - he actually really enjoys it. I only had to suggest it for the first 4 days, now he just runs in to go!

Well, this morning was no different. I went in to get ready for church and he raced for the toilet and sat on there playing with toys... and then I heard it ... a tinkle! However, he was not peeing in the potty - he was peeing on the potty... his little wee wee had come out of the toilet. Most of it slid into the toilet, but not all of it - but a little clean up is worth it!

This afternoon, I was more prepped... He raced to get on and immediately, he started to tinkle! No wait time at all, and since I was right beside him, he went entirely in the potty! He told me that he needed to go and then he went!!!

To all the nay sayers - saying that he's too young to understand what the potty is ... Aaron is AWESOME! I know we have a long road and it will not be perfect, but I am so proud of my little man!

From Me to You

I have been given an awesome opportunity to participate in a fun event with
gifting it forward
via
It is about gifting it forward.
It is a way to receive and then give more than you received.

It is very simple, I will get a gift from Ginger and then I will send out a gift to three of you turning one into three, and then you three will then need to give out three gifts in return turning three into nine and so on and so forth...
So, the first three people to comment on this post will receive a gift from me. I have a few ideas as to what they will be, but I'm still having fun deciding! I love making and picking out gifts!!!
In order to be part of the fun you have to play along. Those of you first three that comment will have 72 hours to post on your blog about this or I'll have to move on to comment #4 and so on.

The fine print:
These are the rules set forth by somebody somewhere back in the links of links of links. They are what they are and they shouldn't be changed

Make sure in your comment you leave a way for me to contact you so that I can 1. acknowledge that you have been selected and 2. get your address to send you your gift!!!

I honestly think this might be one of the best ideas ever! I am so excited about it!!!

While I Was Gone

I was gone at an audition all morning and came home to find this:

Eric cleaned the house and he and Aaron were doing laundry (hence the piles on the bed) ... apparently it wore Aaron out.

I love my boys

Visit From Utah

Laura, her roommate, Natalia, and Stephen came up to visit on their way to Pax. They got some cute pictures and videos.
