The pacifier means he won't put anything in his mouth ... love it!

Pointing
Today we were outside twice. The first time, Aaron was content to stay on the blanket, the second time, not so much... There were a ton of squirrels. Aaron sat up and pointed at one and then went after it. He's pointed before but not with this much determination. I asked him where he was going and he simply pointed again and then continued on his way. (I love how he spreads his fingers and specifically puts his pointer finger forward!)
10 Months and Moving!
I am seriously having trouble believing that Aaron is already 10 months old! Crazy!!!
He is such a HAM - he knows what he wants and he knows how to get it.
He loves to grab onto my leg and remain attached for a good long while, especially outside. I affectionately call him my little leech.
He's a charmer and he loves to show off. Any praise you give him will not be misplaced as he will respond with a big smile or hearty laugh accompanied by clapping.
I absolutely love him and cannot imagine my life without him!

This week is supposed to be GORGEOUS here in Oregon so we went outside this afternoon for about an hour (till somebody decided it was a good time to mow the lawn...).
Our "backyard" is sloped so Aaron always has to adjust, but it doesn't take him long.
I need to get this cute kid his own pair of sunglasses. He absolutely loves them and he's getting pretty good at putting them on me, though not as good at putting them on himself yet.
Since the lawn was being mowed we came inside - there is no keeping this kid out of anything! He'll use just about anything as a step stool now. Silly guy is pretty inventive about what he uses too - yikes!
Sometimes, he manages to get himself pretty stuck on his crusade to get to things I am trying desperately to keep him away from. His most recent obsession is no longer the surround sound system or cords but behind the drum set. He loves to play the actual kit and tries every day for a long time to get past the maze of stands (plus the other obstacles I place in his way like the table). {and yes, he's taking a pacifier again - he only does this when he's teething. He has 6 teeth and one about to break the gums... doesn't feel good when he wants my attention, he knows that if he bites me I'll instantly look at him so if I'm ever cooking or at the computer and he wants me, I will often get a good chunk of my leg bitten}
Oh, and by the way ... a little over a week ago he was standing at the couch and I said, "Aaron, come to mama." I was expecting him to sit and crawl to me but instead he turned and took about 4 steps toward me! Holy cow! Now he's getting really good at distance and keeping his balance even when he steps on a toy. It blows my mind! So yeah, he's a walkin!
This is a clip from a birthday video we made for my Grandpa's birthday (hence the birthday hat):

He loves this panda bear - when it's in the middle of the floor he practically wrestles the darn thing. The panda, somehow, usually ends up on top of him and wins...

Bathroom fun
When my brother was little, he would strip down to his diaper, collect all the stuffed animals, pillows, blankets, etc. that he could find lay inside the refrigerator door buried under all these things.

Apparently, water or no water, the bathtub is the place to be. Aaron has learned to tip himself over into the tub and lower himself slowly. He will go to the faucet and try to turn the nobs and when that doesn't work he'll stand under the bin I hold his toys in (it's suspended by suction cups) and "uh! uh! uh!" while bouncing until I get the toys down. He'll then sit and play with the toys and read his bath book... this has been even more of a problem since Mark and Ane (Grampa and Gramma) got Aaron real bath toys in Hawaii...
Also, Aaron loves to mimic me in the mirror:
The sweatshirt he's wearing was my brother's ... doesn't he look so cute?!?

A New Toy For Aaron
I was looking at Aaron's toys and he has in them several photos - photos that I was printing for one thing or another that didn't print right...
He loves to play with them and carry them around. Well, I thought it would be fun to make him a magnet board for the photos. My little sister gave Aaron a wooden board with sheet metal on it but it is too heavy for him to carry around, so I took the metal off and put foam pieces around the edges so it isn't sharp. Then I cut up the photos and attached magnets to the back. Right now it is a "play with Mama" toy because Aaron likes to eat his family members...
I'm not sure what was going on with my camera, no matter what setting I used I could not get a picture that didn't turn out blurry ... oh well, you get the idea.

A Day At Gramma's
Mark and Ane are out of town so naturally, I go use their washer and dryer. :D Aaron was determined to not take a nap so I spent the day following him around with the camera.
We took a trip outside to sit and look at Mark and Ane's AMAZING backyard.
First, he searches the house for Gramma -- this is routine when we go to do laundry and she isn't there. Here he is searching upstairs.
Aaron loves to help with the laundry
First he checks out the dryer...
then he crawls on top of the laundry (no, I did not put him there)
and goes back to looking in the dryer
Aaron loves to wave... but he will only wave at himself in the mirror.
In fact, it is the first thing he does when he sees himself...

I've told this to people who try to get him to wave and
I always get a look that says of course he does...n't ... so now I have proof
**note please excuse the orphan look... it's laundry day, no one ever looks good on laundry day**
Aaron always moves when I try to take a picture...
Imagine his head on the left side of this photo and you'll get what I thought I was getting...
Instead, he ducked and I ended up with just me.
At first, Coby (not actually sure how to spell his name) was lonely enough to even let Aaron pet him...
But that didn't last long
We took a trip outside to sit and look at Mark and Ane's AMAZING backyard.
And that was the end of our day at Gramma's house

One of My Favorite Things
I was thinking the other day that I needed to post a few of my favorite things:
Aaron and the drums... Whenever Eric goes behind the drum kit Aaron has to go with him. T
he other day Aaron sat on Eric's lap for a good 20 minutes and after whacking Eric in the head many many many times Eric decided it was time to be done.
So he sat Aaron down on the floor and Aaron started screaming!
He wanted to play the drums some more!!!
So naturally I run and scoop him up to let him keep playing, till I learn what it is like to get smacked in the head repeatedly. Then I was done too.
He eventually was content to keep the sticks and bang on his high chair tray.

Aaron and Maybe
These pictures are old, but way cute so I wanted to share them.
Aaron loves animals, an awful lot. He wants to play with them and doesn't understand why they run away.
Rachel's cat, Maybe was outside and Aaron went to the door. He and Maybe were playing where Maybe would put her paws on the window and Aaron would place his hands on her paws. I forgot my camera so Ane snapped these with her iphone and then I played with them...

I have learned that taking a picture of a cat is just as hard as trying to take a picture of a mirror with your flash on... oh well.
