The Dentist and the Pool

My friend, Nicole, asked if the kids and I wanted to go swimming with her and her son Jack.
I readily agreed and decided to place this play date immediately following Audrey and Aaron's dentist appointment in hopes it would motivate them to be good.
Aaron was still hesitant at the dentist and took coaxing the whole time, but, he let them take x-rays (which he didn't do last time) and let them use the "dentist toothbrush" rather than a regular toothbrush!
Audrey, she was chill as could be. They took x-rays and brushed her teeth, moved her lips around, and she was content to just sit there. HOORAY! We discovered that the tooth she's missing on the top row does indeed exist below the gums, it's just randomly super slow.

We had a blast at the pool - what a great reward for listening at the dentist!

Happy Birthday Aaron!

I can't believe this adorable little man is 4!
I did some interviews with him where I asked him some questions.
Here are the videos:
I would have answered a few of them differently (simply from observation) like his favorite heroes being The Avengers and favorite movie being Big Hero 6, but it's cute to see how he felt in the moment of the interviews.
Interview questions and answers:
  • Age 4
  • Favorite Color - Blue
  • Favorite Food - Chips
  • Favorite Super Hero - Batman and Spiderman
  • Favorite Movie - Care Bears
  • Who's in your family - Mama, Daddy, Adelynn, Audrey
  • Favorite thing to do - Play with cars
  • Best Friend - Audrey
Aaron wanted to have cereal and milk for breakfast with Daddy, play with balloons, have a picnic for lunch, eat Taquitos for dinner and have s'mores instead of a cake.
Love this kid!

He got Lego's, movies, and a bike for his birthday! We simply can't stop talking about the bike - he loves it so much! So much in fact that he's decided he needs to stop eating so he won't grow and stay little forever in order not get too big to ride his bike. I'd be ok if he was little forever!
 Here's his crazy helmet hair!

Operation birthday was a success!

Adelynn 1 Month!

Happy 1 month to this adorable, joy-filled, little monkey!
I can't imagine our lives without her!

Little known fact - almost every night, she sleeps from 10:30pm - 6am! She wakes for food and goes back to sleep till 10am. What a gem!
She only cries when she's tired or hungry.
If Aaron or Audrey is invading her space, she gives out a loud squawk and they back right up!

Daniel's Superhero Birthday Party!

Aaron had so much fun!

How Are The Kids With The Baby?

I'm often asked, "How are your kids with the baby?"
I then tell them how it is:

They adore her.
They aren't jealous when I hold her.
They love to take care of her.
They are super helpers - fetching and tossing diapers.
They love to feed her (though after a few minutes they get bored).
They want her to sleep in their room.
The first thing I hear from them every morning: Where's Adelynn?
They are better at finding her binkie than I am.

And no one ever believes me...
But I swear it's true!

If Adelynn starts crying, both kids race to her aid. And they are both legitimately capable of calming her!
If Audrey is in the high chair or the door to Adelynn is closed, Audrey goes into panic mode!
"BABY! BABY! 'S OK! STOP! SHHHH! 'S OK!"
Absolutely adorable!

Audrey is great at calming Adelynn - Adelynn was crying during tummy time so Audrey came over and shared her blanket. Once Adelynn was properly covered, she stopped crying! I added a binkie and she fell right asleep.

I went to get Adelynn some clothes after changing her diaper and came back to find Aaron singing her this special song, "I love you just the way you are!"
Aaron asked me to take a picture because, "she's holding my hand!"

You'd think our routine would have been upset by having a baby, but it really isn't!
Adelynn sleeps so well! It allows me time to build towers with Aaron and do hair & nails with Audrey.
And the kids still play so well together! Here they are in a "space ship." Aaron would holler, "Hold on tight, Audrey, we're gonna crash!" He'd then follow it up with, "I think our ship is going naked!" I'm guessing this is from a show he's seen but he's misheard what they say.
I've said, "Do you mean, 'I think our ship is going to make it?" and he always corrects me with, "No, it's naked."
Adelynn, we are all so glad you are here!
