A Helpful Husband

Things have been pretty insane recently and this morning, Eric woke up and said that he wanted to stay home and help me. He wanted to knock out some projects that would make my life easier.

He started by making us breakfast. Waffles, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. mmmmmmmm

Then he continued his fabulousness by cleaning the house - the whole thing.

He also offered to go grocery shopping with me! Say whaaaaaaaaaat?

We went to Costco and got lunch :)

We had to get a smoothie again - the kids were very happy, haha!

After another grocery store we went to the hardware store. Eric wanted to build me a pantry.

I'd been using the under the stairs closet for food storage for a while now but it was all piled on the floor. We took measurements this morning and then went to get our supplies.

He was very gung-ho and began the building process right when we got home! 

He started and finished it today!

Imagine the wire looking shelf being higher and right at the entrance to the closet - that's all there was! He lowered the shelf and moved it back and then added all of the other shelves for me. I'm in love. It's fantastic and so easy to find everything!!!

Thank you Eric for showing me how much of a priority I am. You're the best!

Precoa Fun Run!

Today, Precoa had a Fitness Fair.

They are big on promoting their employees to be healthy. After lots of health seminars and free samples, they hosted a fun run for the kids and a 5k for the adults! 

Kelsey took my kids yesterday morning and kept them over night. I got them back at the fun run.

They had so much fun with Kelsey!

Kelsey got Aaron very excited for the run. He raced up to me and told he "I'm a runner!" Haha. I got him decked out in his gear and he was still super psyched!

But then the race was to begin. All the kids lined up at the starting line for stretches...

And suddenly Aaron was shy. He didn't want to participate. He wanted to stay by Eric and I - we have this problem in many aspects of activities. He usually eventually warms up to the idea and goes out to be with the other kids but he always floats back to us... Not sure if he wants us to feel included or if he's shy or what...

The kids took off and Aaron just stood there. I asked where he was supposed to be and he pointed, but didn't move. *sigh* Well... ok then. Eric offered to go run with him and he was *kind of* excited about that so off they went...

They ran 2 laps which was almost half a mile - though at one point Aaron decided to lie down for a while so he was very behind the other competitors. However, as Aaron came to the finish line and everyone cheered for him, he turned into quite a ham - waving and smiling at everyone, haha

What a goof!

They had snacks for the kids after and then we headed home. As we were leaving Aaron became very upset because now he wanted to run... We are working on teaching him about how the choice to participate goes away eventually and the choice to not participate has consequences. It is a hard lesson and he doesn't much like learning it ... but we'll get there.

They were quite tired as we were leaving - yay for me!

Boating!

We had been talking with Eric's parents about going boating this season but nothing ever panned out. We had resigned ourselves to not going and waiting till next year, but this morning, Eric's mom called... It was to be one of the last warm evenings and they had it free! Did we want to go?

OF COURSE WE DO!

Eric got off a bit early and we headed out to sail! 

This was Audrey's first time since she was too small for a life-jacket last year.

We had a blast!

 We started with Eric and Aaron out on the water. 

They had SO much fun! But Audrey was desperate to get in the water, so she and I went out to join them

She was OBSESSED with jumping as we rode.

The kids also had fun just playing in the water...

We ended the night with trying to knock Daddy off the raft :)

We had fun watching him fly! He knows just how to lean to jump the waves.

We eventually did get him to fall off, though it was an accident, haha.

Slack in the rope is not a fun way to go... ouch. Sorry, Daddy!

When he went down Aaron got very upset and asked if we were going to go save him!

Of course we'll save Daddy!

Conference Weekend with Grandparents!

We always have so much fun on Conference Weekend! 

Eric and Aaron had a lot of fun one on one time. We spent Priesthood session at home and then headed to Eric's parents' house! We played in the hot tub, played games with Jon and Amanda, and then spent the night. Seriously, the best! We played Dead of Winter again and guess who won, again?  

Morning session we had Eric's parents to ourselves. Audrey sat down for the first time and played with a toy with which you thread a stick through holes. She did it for 5 talks straight. Fantastic!

 Afternoon session was the traditional taco bar and Michael, Heather, Jon and Amanda + kiddos came. It was so much fun! I loved watching Aaron and Sam play together.

Audrey seems to be getting the hang of the trampoline ... kind of ...
