Just a Few Fun Ones!

We were cleaning out the vacuum using some pool noodle pieces and bamboo skewers.
Aaron came over and put the two together to make a "butterfly!"
Audrey loves to stand and she seems to dance when she stands.
She wiggles and dances even more when we turn on music :)

Hugs By the Fire

Aaron was beyond cute with Audrey this morning - it's like he couldn't help but be near her!

She couldn't even stand for very long with out him racing over to hug her and have "Audrey hug me!"
He makes her smile and giggle - she loves when he comes by her (as long as he doesn't get too excited o_O )

In Those Calm Moments...

Sometimes, when all is calm, we can breathe a sigh of relief and simply enjoy it.

And other times, if you try to enjoy the calm, you realize things weren't quite so calm...

Lesson learned - do not keep chocolate by the stove.
We had quite a conversation about this and the dangers of the stove... once I was able to look at him without coming close to laughing that is. He scaled the counter with no stools, silly little monkey!

Cute Moments

I absolutely love having kids - I do! I love it because you don't realize just how cute kids are until you see the good and the bad ... and boy does the good make it all worth it!

The other day, Eric and I finished playing an indy game that ended with a heart-wrenching twist... It ended well, don't get me wrong, but I definitely sobbed... Aaron was half watching half not and he looked up from his toys and saw me snuggling up to Eric, tears streaming down my face.
He came up to us and said, "Mama, you crying! What's wrong? Mama, you hurt?"
"No Aaron, just sad."
"Oh ... it ok Mama."
Aaron then pulled me from Eric to give me a ginormous hug and said, "Mama, you beautiful" as he stroked my face and wiped my tears.

Today, Aaron pooped in his underwear ... we had been doing really well recently, so it was a surprise. He went to the bathroom, took off his pants, dumped the poop in the toilet and was getting ready to dunk his underwear when I found him (this is the clean up routine I usually perform).
He hopped on the toilet and I left the room for a bit. It wasn't long before he hollered, "Hey Mama! Can you ... come ... clean Aaron, PLEASE!"

One of Aaron's new phrases is, "Come on, let's do this!"

Aaron also loves to "run from the monsters!" and brush Mama's hair with anything ... his favorite tool currently is his toy wrench. At least it doesn't pull on the snarls ;)

Here are 2 cute videos of Audrey (they are over a week old ... oops).

This first one is what happens when she hears Aaron cry (if they are both sleeping in the same room as each other, their crying doesn't wake the other... this goes both ways - I got lucky!).

In this video, Audrey shows off her talking and her standing!

Drew, Kirsten, and Alden!

My cousin, Drew, was stationed in Korea for 15 months ...
and just got back to the states to be stationed in Washington! Only a 2 hour drive away!
So he, his wife, Kirsten, and their son, Alden (18months) came down for a weekend visit.

We went to Chuck-E-Cheese for lunch on Saturday and had a blast!
Aaron's favorite was the basketball game - the balls were in the open
so I simply handed them to him and he shot baskets.
Aaron asked me to get in the boat ride with him. :) I love how much he loves having me beside him!

We found 2 tokens. We used one for the game where you throw balls at the screen and one for the sketch!
We got home and relaxed ordering Thai food for dinner. Yum!

Sunday, we had this crazy idea to give our kids pixie sticks. We had hoped they would spit and sputter (we are all great parents, huh?) ... but, Aaron loved the flavored sugar and after his first swig, Alden was done...

Aaron and Alden (and the rest of us adults) had so much fun together! I can't wait till we make the trip up there for a visit!
